Story-telling and
creative workshops for children.
For Schools, Arts Centres, Festivals, Parties and Events.
Throughout the summer months
Liz has been telling Tales from the Mabinogi and Tales of the River
- enchanting and enthralling moral tales rewritten for our times.
She has been working with children at the National Botanic Garden
of Wales throughout July and August, and featured at the Cardigan
River and Food Festival. Her visual and dramatic approach to the art
of story-telling makes use of props, backdrops, and a good deal of
movement and involvement.
Stories available include : Cauldron of the Undead (from the Mabinogi),
Secrets of Standing Stones, Morforwyn/The Mermaid, The Poor Fisherman.
Stories appropriate to Festivals - Christmas etc…
Story-Telling toward creative writing, drama, verbal skills or artwork
- your choice.
Liz Whittaker originally
trained to teach drama, but has also worked in journalism and community
theatre. She has been writing and telling stories for children for
many years and has led a number of junior youth theatres, writing,
directing and producing in Wales and South West England.
Her first novel for children The Fizzing Stone, Part One of The Dreamstealers
trilogy was published this year by Y Lolfa.
She has the appropriate
police Enhanced Disclosure for working with children.
FEES
Organisations are advised that they may apply for funding to support
events through the Writers on Tour scheme, run by the Wales Academy.
Liz Whittaker is an Associate Member of the Academy.
